Wilf Thompson featured in the centre of the photograph was joint owner of the welding shop – Atkinson and Thompson Engineering – the man on the right is Oliver Padgett. Can anybody name the young man on the left? Colin Verrill suggests: “The man on the left could be “Bunty” Welford”. Mark Welford has now confirmed this fact with: “On the left is William ‘Bunty’ Welford, he was my grandad although I never met him, I shown the picture to relatives who have confirmed this.”

Looks to me that the man on the left is ‘Bunty’ Welford, not 100% certain though. I used to work at “Atkinson & Thompson”
