Yarker was born Dorothy Mary Duffy in 1917, marry Charles Henry Yarker in 1937; she qualified as a Nurse in 1946, and the 1939 Census lists her and her husband Charles (who during WW II was a crane driver at Skinningrove works) living at 68 Gladstone Street, Carlin How.
