Bells Huts Beauty

The caption tells us that it’s Helen Hutchinson and it was taken about 1905, believed to have been the mother-in-law of Stan Ward (he was locally famed for having been a POW in Germany).

This lady was said to be Stan Ward’s mother-in-law; Stan had local fame as well as bieng a P O W in Germany. He was for many years the local Painter and Decorator; himself a true local historian. He would have named all these photos had he still been here.

If this is Stan’s mother-in-law then she is my great aunt, Ellen Hutchinson, born in 1892 in Middlesbrough. She could well have been there in 1905 as her grandfather, Michael Hutchinson lived at Number 15.The only photograph I have of her is her wedding photo with her husband Joe Reed. I would like to know more about Stan Ward and his family too.

Stan Ward a POW? Does anyone know anything more about this?

A relative in USA is looking for Stan’s two sons John and Chris Ward. She tells me her grandparents were cousins of Ellen Reed (Nellie to you) and they visited the Reed and Ward family and corresponded with Stan and Eileen Ward but lost touch when the grandparents died. She is very keen to find them. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with either John on Chris?
